Posting your product review videos to YouTube.com has to be one of an Affiliates best weapons for driving more targeted traffic to your website. In this video tutorial I will walk through the process of setting up a video on YouTube. Anyone can do this, but the real trick is how to maximize the amount of targeted traffic you can drive to your website in addition to improving the ranking of your keywords on the search engines.

Since YouTube.com is currently ranked number 3 on the Internet, any information that changes on YouTube.com causes the search engines to scramble and index the change almost instantly. I mean, change to a high ranking sites is what keeps the search engines happy and in business. So, my idea is to make my video postings on YouTube.com irresistible to the the search engines by giving them exactly what they want.

I have been experimenting in providing a detailed description for each of my videos, with the url of my website, which of course allows the viewers to click to my website and gives my website a back link. Now I will have to check on this point of a back link because I would assume the link from YouTube.com does probably have a No-Follow or something similar set up to prevent this. More on my findings in another video.

The other thing I have been playing with is to go into the description field of my YouTube video and refresh it once every 2 weeks or so. By this, I mean to change the description, add some new and relevant content or leave a question for my viewers to respond to. I am assuming this gives the search engines another prompt to re-index the information and is good for the rankings.

Google Keyword Research Tools

Google has a number of different tools that can help you with your keyword research.  For instance, Google Adwords has a keyword tool that can be used to help generate new keyword ideas with search volume statistics.  

Google Search-Based Keyword Tool is a free research tool that is designed to supplement AdWords by generating keywords based on Google search queries and by matching keywords with analytical data.

Keyword Discovery by Trellian

Trellian also offers their Free Search Term Suggestion Tool that will generate 100 alternative keyword suggestions compiled from the major search engines.

SEMRush

SEMRush helps you generate different keywords as well as analyze your competitors Google search results.  

They have a free limited version which will allow you up to 10 listings per query and 20 results per day.  They also have a couple options for more extensive versions which will allow you more queries with more results per day and will give you more preference for analytical reports.

Wordtracker

With Wordtacker you can conduct a lateral search in order to compare keywords with those of competing or related pages.  Since it gets its data from Dogpile and MetaCrawler, you will be able to gather other data not just data from Google search engines.  

For Wordtracker you need a paid subscription.  However, they have a free keyword suggestion tool which you can use even without a Wordtracker subscription that can be added to your Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 2 or 3 browsers.

These keyword research tools should get your started generating the right keywords for your campaign from a Seattle SEO business, but remember that the right keywords will get you nowhere if you don’t use them within the right context with compelling and relevant content.
